Scholarships Awarded to 202 Lincoln Students

The Catholic Foundation has awarded 202 Lincoln students with tuition scholarships worth $120 to $200 per student through the 2013 Dillon Scholarship Awards. This year, the Dillon Scholarship made available over $39,000 for students in financial need who attend Catholic grade school and Pius X High School in Lincoln. The Dillon Scholarship has provided tuition assistance for over 2,000 students over the past 14 years with nearly $400,000 given in total scholarship awards.

New Endowments Now Easier to Create

The Catholic Foundation Board of Directors has lowered the threshold required to create a new endowment or donor-advised fund with the Catholic Foundation. Now a new endowment or fund may be begun by an individual or a parish for just $10,000. New endowments may be created by a direct gift of cash, securities, or grain or through a planned gift such as a bequest, gift of retirement funds, life insurance, or charitable trust. All endowments are managed by the Catholic Foundation strictly for the use specified by the donor and are invested in accordance with Catholic moral teaching. Contact the Catholic Foundation for more information on gift planning and the benefits of creating an endowment or donor-advised fund.
