Magnificat brunch in Kearney Feb. 3

KEARNEY (SNR) – Magnificat Full of Grace of Kearney will host a brunch Feb. 3 with speaker Father Scott Harter.

The event will begin at 10: a.m. at the Kearney Ramada Inn, 301 Second Ave. Father Harter will present “He Came That We May Have Life.”

Father Harter was born and raised in the small town of Elm Creek. He studied at the University of Nebraska, pursuing a degree in fisheries and wildlife, and became involved at the Newman Center. While there, he began discerning a vocation to the priesthood.

In 2008, after earning his degree, he entered priestly formation for the Diocese of Grand Island and began studies at Mundelein Seminary in Chicago. He was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Grand Island in 2014 by Bishop William Dendinger and in July 2015 became the associate pastor at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island, where he currently serves.
