Bishop’s Ireland pilgrimage for World Meeting of Families

DUBLIN (SNR) – Spots are open to join Bishop James Conley on pilgrimage to Ireland next summer, to attend the World Meeting of Families.

Dublin, Ireland will host “The Gospel of the Family: Joy for the World” Aug. 21-26. Held every three years, this major international event brings together families from across the world to celebrate, pray and reflect upon the central importance of marriage and the family as the cornerstone of society and of the Church.

The event will include a three-day Congress and a “Festival of Families,” and will close with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration. Thousands of families and individuals from all over Ireland and the world are expected to attend.

Priests from the Diocese of Lincoln will lead the Aug. 20 – Sept. 1 pilgrimage, and participants will be joined by Bishop Conley outside Dublin.

Pilgrimage sites in Dublin include Trinity College, the Shrine of Matt Talbot at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Old Town Dublin, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and more. Bishop Conley will join the group as they travel to Killarney. Sites include St. Brigid’s Cathedral, the Iveragh Peninsula and several area towns. Pilgrims will visit the Cliffs of Moher on the way to Galway, Knock, and Enfield.

The cost to attend is $ 3,595.00, per person/double occupancy. Those interested in attending may register online at www.tektonministries.org.
