Magnificat Plans Prayer Meal

LINCOLN (SNR) - Magnificat of Lincoln will sponsor a prayer meal Saturday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m., featuring Betsy Dalton of Lincoln. It will be held at Beacon Hills located in the Country Inn and Suites at 5353 N. 27th St., Lincoln.

Mrs. Dalton is a member of St. Joseph Parish and is employed by the Diocese of Lincoln. She grew up in a large family in Cincinnati, Ohio. She came to Nebraska in 1967 to attend Creighton University in Omaha and has lived in Nebraska for all but 13 of those years. She has six children and 15 grandchildren.

Her 13 years away from Lincoln were spent working in several Catholic ministries such as Franciscan University, Ave Maria University and Ave Maria Radio. In accepting God’s will and his direction in her life, He has now brought her back to Lincoln.

Magnificat organizers invite all to this "inspiring testimony of God’s providential care for His daughter." To register for the event, send a check for $15 before Feb. 2 to Annette Wemhoff, 931 W. Harvest Rd., Lincoln, NE 68521. The student price is $10. No walk-ins, please.

Magnificat is an international ministry to Catholic women which began in New Orleans in 1981 and now has more than 75 chapters worldwide. Magnificat is based on the scriptural scene in which Mary reaches out to her cousin Elizabeth and shares Jesus with her in her time of need.

The Lincoln chapter began in 1996 and has ministered to more than 900 women since it began. Magnificat welcomes women of all faiths to the quarterly prayer meal.
