WAVERLY (SNR) - Emeritus Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz will give a day of reflection for women Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., entitled “Prayer in the Christian Life.”
Participants should arrive at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly at 8:30 a.m. for registration, coffee and rolls. The day will include conferences by the bishop, Mass, lunch, confessions, and a holy hour.
Ordained a priest for Milwaukee in 1960, Bishop Bruskewitz was Bishop of Lincoln for 20 years before retiring in 2012. He will speak on the topic of prayer, a gift of God given to all so that people can live in communion with Christ and the Church.
Father Gary Coulter, director of Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House, said God “calls each of us to union with Him.”
“May we come to contemplate the Lord in prayer, hear how Jesus teaches us how to pray, and know that the Lord always hears our prayers,” he said.
The day of reflection is open to women of all ages, and not just mothers. All are encouraged to invite other women to attend.
Advance registration is preferred but not required. A donation to the retreat house is requested. The suggested donation is $50, but any amount will be accepted.
