Lincoln (SNR) – The 48th annual Cathedral art show and sale, “Festival of the Arts,” will be held Oct. 10-12.
The event is free and open to the public. Some specialty events that do have admission fees will also be included. All events will be held in Lincoln at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ, 3500 Sheridan Blvd.
The featured artist for the 2014 event is Julia Noyes. Art at this year’s show includes fine jewelry, religious jewelry, ironwork, stonework and resin sculptures, paper mache figures, stained glass pieces, fabric art, pottery, watercolors, oils, acrylics, leather work and much more. Sam Kavan, chair of the event for 2014, said there is something for every budget and taste at the show.
The art show begins Friday, Oct. 10, with the opening night gala from 5:30 to 8 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge to attend, and guests may meet the artists over wine and appetizers.
The art show is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11.
The art show is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, and a raffle drawing will take place at 2:30 p.m. Raffle prizes this year include a piece of jewelry donated by Darold’s Jewelry, and cash prizes of $1,000, $500, $200 and $100.
Raffle tickets can be purchased throughout the art show (five for $10) and ticket holders need not be present to win.
