'Man-to-Man' weekend retreat
Father Troy Schweiger to present 'A Man after God's own Heart ' March 13-15
WAVERLY (SNR) - A weekend Lenten retreat for men will be led by Father Troy Schweiger March 13-15 on the topic "A Man after God's own Heart." It will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly.
All men are invited to grow in their relationship with God and in living their vocation, especially those who have participated in "That Man is You!"
The meaning, dignity and purpose of men is under attack today. Many competing voices are trying to redefine manliness and the nature of being a man. This retreat will explore the meaning, dignity and purpose of men as written in our very souls by God and revealed to us by His love. Men who participate will explore where their strengths lie, what beauty they are called to protect and cherish, and what great adventure God has called them to explore.
Father Schweiger, pastor of St. Patrick Church in Lincoln has been a priest for 20 years, with assignments in Lincoln, Hastings, Dawson and Shubert, Colon and Cedar Bluffs, and Mead. A graduate of Pius X High School in Lincoln, he has also taught at many of the Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Lincoln.
"To be a man of God is not for the faint of heart; God calls us to greatness," Father Schweiger said. "He has called us from all eternity and has called us by name!"
