Lincoln (SNR) – The 49th annual Cathedral art show and sale, “Festival of the Arts,” will be held Oct. 9-11.
The event is free and open to the public. Some specialty events that do have admission fees will also be included. All events will be held in Lincoln at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ, 3500 Sheridan Blvd.
The featured artist for 2015 is Patrick Gauthier. Art at this year’s show includes fine jewelry, religious jewelry, ironwork sculptures, stonework sculptures, stained-glass pieces, resin sculptures and ornaments, fabric art, watercolors, oils, acrylics, photography, wood art, pottery, leather work and much more.
The art show begins Friday, Oct. 9, with the opening night gala from 5:30 to 8 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge to attend, and guests may meet the artists over wine and appetizers. Invited guests include Lt. Governor Mike Foley and Congressman Jeff Fortenberry.
The art show is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. A luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $10, payable at the door.
The art show is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, and a raffle drawing will take place at 2:30 p.m. Raffle prizes this year include a piece of jewelry donated by Darold’s Jewelry, and cash prizes of $1,000, $500, $200 and $100.
Raffle tickets can be purchased throughout the art show (five for $10) and ticket holders need not be present to win.
