LINCOLN (SNR) – The “Pius Players” of Pius X High School in Lincoln will present Lerner and Loewe’s classic “Brigadoon” as their spring musical March 17-19 at 7 p.m., and March 20, at 2 p.m.
Tickets can be reserved by calling the Pius X school office at 402-488-0931 beginning Monday, March 7. The show will be produced by a cast of 47 and a crew of 30.
“Brigadoon” is the story of two world-weary, 1940s Americans finding themselves lost in the Highlands of Scotland. After accidentally stumbling upon an 18th-century Scottish village, the Americans discover it is a magically preserved town that appears out of the mist only once every 100 years. In beautiful Brigadoon, life is simpler, easier, and untouched by the worries and negative influences of the modern world.
Hero Tommy Albright – played by Thomas Fulton – falls for lovely villager Fiona MacLaren – played by Emma Finder. Tommy must choose whether to stay in Brigadoon forever or return to his life in New York City. The story explores the miracle of love and heroic sacrifice for the good of others.
With its largest enrollment ever at 1,225 students, Pius X has served the Lincoln community for 60 years and works to instill six core values - excellence, service, purpose, faith, integrity and charity - into the next generation of leaders.
