Spirit Catholic Radio to host bi-annual membership drive
OMAHA (SNR/SCR) – Spirit Catholic Radio will host its “Spring Care-a-thon” Monday, March 27 through Friday, March 31 from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It will include stories of hope and inspiration, testimonials from listeners, and compelling words from Lincoln Diocese priests and area bishops.
As a non-profit radio apostolate, Spirit Catholic Radio depends on the generosity of donors and business underwriters to spread the Gospel message throughout the heartland. During the Care-a-thon, pledges are called in from listeners from more than 200 communities in Nebraska and western Iowa. Care-a-thon pledges may also be made online any time at spiritcatholicradio.com.
“The success of our Spring Care-a-thon would not be possible without the prayers and support of our listeners,” said Jim Carroll, executive director of Spirit Catholic Radio. “We are grateful for the opportunity to work together and share the love of Jesus Christ through this radio apostolate.”
Many priests and religious from the Lincoln Diocese and across the coverage area join Spirit Catholic Radio during the Care-a-thon for live interviews, along with lay people representing different organizations such as the Knights of Columbus, youth ministries and pro-life groups.
On-air membership drives are held in the spring and fall to cover the operational expenses of the station, such as utilities, salaries, licenses, production, programming, and equipment.
