Saunders Co. schools serve more than 650 students
WAHOO (SNR) – Bishop Neumann High School will host its 26th annual “Bus Fund Casino Night” Friday, Aug. 25, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at Bishop Neumann High School, 202 S. Linden St., Wahoo.
“A priority of the Saunders Catholic Schools continues to be providing safe transportation for the students,” said Chad Swanson, director of development for the Saunders Catholic Schools.
“Between the three Catholic schools, most of the students use bus transportation, whether it’s for everyday transportation to and from school, field trips, and school clubs and sports activities.”
The Aug. 25 event will include dinner catered by Wahoo Super, along with casino games and a silent and live auction. All proceeds from Bus Night will be used to purchase a new bus for Saunders Catholic Schools, which can cost more than $82,000.
The Catholic schools in Saunders County are Bishop Neumann High School and St. Wenceslaus Grade School in Wahoo, and St. John Nepomucene Grade School in Weston. St. Wenceslaus School was founded in 1910, St. John Nepomucene in 1954, and Bishop Neumann in 1964, graduating more than 2,600 students.
“Your help buying the raffle tickets you received in the mail, donating items for the silent and live auctions and attending is greatly appreciated by all the students,” Swanson said. “This evening ensures that buses are always available for them and their activities. We are very blessed and thankful to have such great support for our schools from our families and friends.”
