Diocese of Lincoln Office of Catholic Education
The Catholic schools of the Diocese of Lincoln strive to help all students develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically, so that every child can experience the happiness and freedom God intends. Because each child is created in God’s image, our formation is rooted in a Catholic sense of human dignity, and in the virtues which lead to excellence. We teach what we believe: that our greatest happiness comes in becoming who God created us to be, and in serving God and our neighbors.
We believe that helping our students to understand their identity as sons and daughters of God is critical to their personal development. We are dedicated to the respectful and supportive formation of every student. Earlier this week, a local media report on transgendered students called into question the mission, and supportive environment, of our Catholic schools. While we do not comment on the situations of particular students, we are committed to educating and forming students in truth and charity, to know the joy that God alone can give.
