Weekend retreat with Fr. Craig Doty, Nov. 2-4
WAVERLY (SNR) - Father Craig Doty will lead a healing retreat Nov. 2-4 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly.
Father Doty invites all to admit the need for healing and the need for Jesus by praying the simple prayer, “Jesus, please heal me!”
He said the retreat is for anyone who “wants to experience God’s power and love that heals. All need healing from the wounds of sin, and many need help to bring about healing, not only to hearts and souls, but also to minds and bodies.”
Ordained in 1997, Father Craig Doty is the director of the Lincoln Equipping Team, and was recently named the pastor of St. Peter Parish in Lincoln.
On the retreat there will also be opportunity for individual prayer with members of the Lincoln Equipping Team, formed in August 2017 after a “Day of Equipping” led by Bart Schuchts from the John Paul II Healing Center in Tallahassee, Fla. The center was founded by his brother, Dr. Bob Schuchts, author of “Be Healed: A Guide to Encountering the Powerful Love of Jesus in Your Life” and “Be Transformed: The Healing Power of the Sacraments.”
Father Doty invites all men and women to experience the power of a retreat
“One of the major benefits of a retreat is silence,” he said. “We need silence in order to hear God speak to us. God truly speaks to our heart.”
Other upcoming retreats will be held Nov. 16-18, “Learning to Love” with Father Sean Kilcawley for men and women; Nov. 30-Dec. 2 a couples retreat with Deacon James Keating, and Dec. 6-9, men’s Spiritual Exercises with Regnum Christi.
