LINCOLN (SNR) - The St. Thomas Aquinas Church - Newman Center at 320 N. 16th St. on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus will host a concert by the University Singers Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The University Singers will feature many of the seminal, 20th-century works for mixed choir including Samuel Barber’s Agnus Dei. The concert will also feature the music of emerging composers like recent UNL alumnus Nick Dahlquist and Ryan Murphy.
This performance will be the first by UNL’s University Singers to be held in the new UNL Newman Center - St. Thomas Aquinas Church, which just won the American Institute of Architecture’s “People Choice Award” for best architecture across Nebraska in 2015. The beautiful chapel has tremendous choral acoustics.
University Singers is UNL’s premiere concert choral ensemble directed by Dr. Peter Eklund, professor and director of choral activities.
Parking is available on area streets, or in the parking garages at 17th and R or 14th and Q streets. There is a charge for both.
