McCOOK (SNR) – The Family Life Office and the McCook FertilityCare Center will host “Growing up and becoming a man” Sunday, Aug. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. in St. Patrick Church, McCook.
The program, for 12- to 14-year-old boys and their fathers, is a time set aside for a father and son to explore God’s gift of human fertility and the beauty and wonder of growing up and becoming a man. Topics include: the changes in a young man’s body as it prepares for fatherhood; the functions of the male reproductive system; the sacredness of human life; the virtue of chastity; and a confidential question-and-answer segment.
The purpose of the program is to provide an atmosphere of love and learning to discuss the important topic of growing up, and to establish a foundation for continued communication between parent and child. There is no fee for the program, but registrations are required, as space is limited.
