All invited to parish mission

Fr. Young: ‘Divine Mercy, Divine Will’

HASTINGS (SNR) - St. Cecilia Parish in Hastings invites all to participate in a parish mission Oct. 15-20.

The mission, titled “Divine Mercy and Divine Will: The Great Signs of Our Times,” will be presented by Father Robert Young, OFM, a Franciscan priest from Tallahassee, Fla., known for his program on Radio Maria, “The Will of God in the Life and Writings of Luisa Piccarreta.” He has also been commissioned by Pope Francis as a “Missionary of Mercy” for the Jubilee of Mercy this year.

He said he desires to help others to come to know, love and possess the Kingdom of the Divine Will in their lives. It is, he believes, “the fulfillment of all hopes and desires of the human mind and soul.”

The mission will begin at St. Cecilia’s weekend Masses Oct. 15-16 – 5 p.m. Saturday, and 7, 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday. Father Young will present a talk at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 through 20.  A brief reception will be held after the Oct. 17 talk.

The mission is organized by “Divine Will Study,” which meets Thursdays at 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia Church, under the spiritual direction of pastor Father Joseph Walsh.

“We are really excited to welcome any interested participants,” said member Stephanie Wesely. “Feel free to attend the entire event or even just one or two talks.”
