Knights contribute to tuition assistance fund

DAVID CITY (SNR) – The Knights of Columbus from Holy Trinity Parish in Brainard recently presented a donation to the Guardian Angel Fund, Aquinas and St. Mary Catholic School’s tuition assistance program in David City.

The funds were raised at the Knights’ 10th annual “Guardian Angel Poker Run” held in late August. All vehicles were invited to join in the 100-mile Nebraska countryside ride. Meals, games, and raffles were available at Holy Trinity Church’s parish center after the ride.

Over the past 10 years, the Knights have donated $11,200 to the Guardian Angel Fund.

St. Mary Elementary School in David City opened in 1898. It currently has 239 students in grades pre-K through 5. Aquinas Middle and High School, which opened in 1961, has 285 students in grades 6-12. The schools employ more than 80 faculty and staff members and are served by five priests and two women religious.
