LINCOLN (SNR) - Pope Benedict XVI has given special recognition to a group of religious and lay people in the Diocese of Lincoln.
On December 3, at the Blessed John XXIII Diocesan Center in Lincoln, Bishop Fabian W. Bruskewitz gave the documents and medals which had been sent by the Holy Father, to the honorees, and extended to the particular congratulations of the entire diocese as well as his own personal sentiments of joy and esteem.

The Holy Father indicated, said Bishop Bruskewitz, that he also intended to honor Dr. Herbert Reese and Sister Theresa Gottvald, M.S., but they had died before the honor could be bestowed.
Bishop Bruskewitz remarked that he regarded those who had been recognized by the Pope as well deserving of the honor they received, but also they, in some sense are representatives of so many other religious and lay people in the Diocese of Lincoln, all of whom deserve esteem and gratitude, and who will be honored by God for their goodness and generosity.
