Hastings: Technology Integration Specialist

Hastings Catholic Schools has an immediate opening for a part time (0.5 FTE) Technology Integration Specialist.  The Technology Integration Specialist works with the current Diocesan Technology Integration Specialist to assist classroom teachers to integrate mobile devices into the classroom curriculum and develop teacher guidelines for the responsible and intentional use of mobile devices in classroom instruction, in accord with the vision and philosophy of the Diocese of Lincoln. This position provides direct support to teachers through personal campus visitation, observation, coaching and mentoring. This position creates a set of mobile-friendly lesson plans to be shared throughout the Diocese of Lincoln schools and creates, tests, and assesses the use and value of 1:1 mobile technology, based on research, and feedback.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in education; holds a current Nebraska teaching certificate; at least three years of successful full-time experience as a classroom teacher;  understanding of and respect for Catholic tradition and doctrine; understanding of Catholic pedagogical documents and appreciation for classical and contemporary approaches to Catholic education; understanding of the vision for Catholic education in the Diocese of Lincoln; support for the Diocese of Lincoln’s philosophy and approach to the role of technology in education, especially the intentional and disciplined use of technology, and the ability to prudent assess the use of technology in light of this philosophy; professional demeanor and appearance; able to train school personnel to effectively use computers and mobile devices; strong human relations and communication skills; able to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate within a team environment; necessary experience in use of Windows and iOS devices on a LAN/WAN.
