(SNR/IR) - Father Sean Kilcawley of the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln has been appointed theological advisor to Integrity Restored, a ministry to those affected by pornography and pornography addiction.
Father Kilcawley will continue ministry as director of the Family Life Office in the Diocese of Lincoln.
Integrity Restored provides education, training, encouragement, and resources to individuals, spouses, and families affected by pornography and pornography addiction, particularly helping to heal relationships, and assist parents in preventing and responding to pornography exposure. Integrity Restored also trains clergy to assist families and parishioners affected by pornography.
As theological advisor, Father Kilcawley will provide guidance on Catholic anthropology, moral theology, and pastoral ministry for the resources and programs of Integrity Restored. In addition, he’ll work with clergy across the country—providing them with practical ways to shepherd parishioners struggling with pornography use.
Father Kilcawley will speak at a variety of events, emphasizing God’s plan for sexuality, and the damaging effects of pornography on spiritual and personal development. He will offer clergy trainings, intensive workshops, parish events, Integrity Restored podcasts and blogs, and contribute to other future resources.
“We’re thrilled to have Father Kilcawley take on a more permanent role with Integrity Restored,” said James O’Day, executive director. “His wisdom and insight, as well as his understanding and compassion for people suffering from pornography and priests attempting to navigate this issue in their parishes will be a great asset to the restorative ministry we are doing.”
Bishop James Conley, Bishop of Lincoln, commented: “I’m very glad that Father Kilcawley has the opportunity to help in the fight against pornography across the country. The Lord has given him great gifts for teaching, and a heart for this ministry. I know his partnership with Integrity Restored will be a source of great grace.”
