DENTON (SNR) – “Frassati,” a play about the life of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, will be performed July 12-14 at 7 p.m. and July 15 at 3 p.m. at St. Mary Church, 7105 Cass Ave., Denton.
The production is written and directed by Patsy Urbanovsky, a member of St. Mary Parish, and performed by a cast and crew of more than 30 Catholics of all ages from multiple parishes in Lincoln and the surrounding areas.
Blessed Pier Giorgio was an athletic, fun-loving, courageous, devout Catholic born into a prominent Italian family in 1901. He died at the young age of 24 and has since become a model for lay people all over the world.
Beatified in 1990 by St. John Paul II and named “The Man of the Eight Beatitudes,” Bl. Frassati taught that holiness is possible for everyone.
The two-hour play will be performed in the basement of St. Mary Church, which is accessible by stairs only. Due to the show’s length and emotionally heavy content of Bl. Frassati’s last days, it may not be suitable for very young children.
The production is free to attend, but to be assured of a seat, please reserve a ticket at Frassati.eventbrite.com or call (402) 937-4467. Free-will offerings will be accepted.
