(SNR) - The National Council of Catholic Women Board of Directors met Jan. 19-20 at the Washington Retreat House in Washington, DC.
The event included prayer services, Masses, reports from officers, awards, resolutions, by-laws, and more. Commissions spent the second day with on-going development of their work. As Omaha Province Director representing Nebraska, Susan Johnson is a member of the spirituality, liturgy and purse auction committees. The Spirituality Committee worked on prayers for the loss of a child, suicide, and bullying, in conjunction with the Mysteries of the Rosary. Johnson also attended Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception Jan. 17 and the March for Life with NCCW board members.
“As your province director,” she said, “I’ve corresponded and visited with the A/DCCW presidents and attended several meetings. We strive to build the number of NCCW affiliates and individual members to keep the organization vibrant. I can assure you that I am most impressed with the abilities of the NCCW officers and chairwomen! Together, our Arch/Diocesan, Deaneries/Subdivisions, and Parish Councils of Catholic Women are a part of a national organization that speaks for your Catholic values and supports, empowers and educates all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service.
