Volunteers needed for ‘Huskers Helping the Homeless’

LINCOLN (SNR) - Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach in Lincoln is hosting the 23nd annual “Huskers Helping the Homeless” event Sept. 26-29.

Local businesses, families and individuals can show support by volunteering, serving as sponsors, and donating during the event.

“The money raised during this event supports our hunger relief and homeless prevention services 365 days a year, bringing us closer to our vision of defeating hunger and homelessness in Lincoln,” said Susanne Blue, executive director. “Our sponsors, more than 600 volunteers of all ages, and the generous community members who donate all bring such a positive community spirit to this event. We are looking forward to a fun weekend!”

The event is a volunteer opportunity for GodTeens, families, sports teams, scouting groups, youth groups and work teams. Locations are available downtown on game day, or throughout the weekend at local grocery stores and retailers.
