Spirit Catholic Radio hosted a speaking tour of Dr. Ray Guarendi, popular radio and television host, author, speaker and family therapist. Presentations were held June 2 at St. Agnes Church in Scottsbluff, June 3 at St. Patrick Church in North Platte, June 4 at St. Michael Church in Hastings and June 5 at Pius X High School in Lincoln.

Assumption Parish in Dwight was established in 1899. Located in Butler County, the parish currently serves more than 100 families. The present church was dedicated in 1915, and the grottos on the parish grounds were completed in 1934.  The original parish hall, purchased by the parish in 1920, was replaced in 1999. The church was fully renovated in 1997 and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2008.

Father Raymond Jansen is the current pastor of Assumption. Weekend Masses are celebrated Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 10 a.m. Assumption holds an annual parish dinner during the Dwight Czech Festival. The event will be held Sunday, July 20. The roast pork dinner will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Benediction will be held in the grotto at 7 p.m.
