Sacred Heart Student Council Sets Theme #Cause Kindness
#Cause Kindness can be found all around the media these days. Sacred Heart Student Council has adopted this theme for its activities this year. To kick off the year’s events, Student Council members put on a campaign to collect new or like new children’s books to promote reading. The K-12 students at Sacred Heart were challenged to bring in a book and fill the book case in the main hallway. Books ranging from early childhood board books to young adult chapter books were collected. These books were then sorted and sent to Sixpence and to “Kids need Read” a national non-profit foundation that addresses illiteracy and library funding issues across the United States.
Each month the Sacred Heart Student Council will be promoting a project that fits with in the theme #Cause Kindness. Projects planned will benefit local, state and national entities. Pictured with the book drive books are Student Council officers.
