St. John the Baptist celebrates "Super Pi" Day
The 4th grade, 5th grade, and 7th grade Pre-Algebra classes at St. John the Baptist School in Plattsmouth celebrated Mega Pi day in STYLE!!! Their first challenge was to collect 314 can goods for the local food pantry. If they were successful, they would get to throw a whipped cream pie into each of their three teachers. But…if they were not successful…three students, one from each class, drawn at random, would get pie in their faces instead. Mega Pi Day started bright and early at 9 a.m. with a reading from the book Sir Circumference. They then sang pi songs, had a pi number memorization contest, tried to stop a stop watch at 3.14 seconds, wrote their own pi lyrics and poems, ate pi, had a hula hoop contest … AND…three students had a whipped cream pie stuffed in their faces! It was a GREAT day!
