Pius X Students Earn Photography Awards
Seven Pius X High School students claimed 13 awards for photography at the Nebraska Scholastic Art Competition held in February. Their photographs have been on display as part of the Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition at the Omaha Public Schools TAC Building from February 23 – March 30. The contest is sponsored by the Nebraska Art Teachers Association.
The students receiving awards include: Caitlin Dinh - Gold Key and Silver Key award; Mary Ostasuc - four Silver Key awards; Steph Polivka – three Silver Key awards; Clayton Tobin - Silver Key award; Sandy Valles Leon - Silver Key award; Joel Blaser - Honorable Mention; and Emma Finder - Honorable Mention.
Each entry is judged on originality, technical proficiency, and expression. Pius X’s photography instructor is Jerry Bartek.
