What is Unbound?
“Unbound is a deliverance prayer ministry that focuses on people, not evil spirits. Unbound is a safe, loving and reproducible model that helps people respond to the good news of the gospel and apply the truth to their lives using the five keys.” (Heart of the Father website) Unbound Ministry is based on the idea that the gospel has the power to make a difference in a person’s life. It is a way of prayer, using the five keys, that empowers a person to open their hearts and respond more fully to Jesus’s invitation of abundant life. Unbound is essentially moving a person through a conversion experience. The five keys are:
2. Forgiving oneself and others.
3. Renouncing the lies, spirits, and tactics of Satan.
4. Taking authority over the works of Satan.
5. Receiving the Father’s blessing.

History of Unbound in the Diocese of Lincoln
In the summer of 2014 the Archdiocese of Omaha hosted Neal Lozano and his team for an Unbound conference. Fr. Holoubek and some of the faithful of our diocese attended this conference and experienced a new freedom in Christ through the five keys.
In fall 2014, Fr. Holoubek led a video series at John XXIII with a small group that would become the beginning of a Lincoln Unbound Prayer Team. In February of 2015 and 2016 Fr. Holoubek gave an Unbound retreat at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly, Nebraska. The newly formed Lincoln Unbound prayer team with the help of the Omaha Unbound prayer team prayed for retreatants. Since the 2015 retreat, the Lincoln team has hosted an Unbound Video Series at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lincoln, at the John XXIII Diocesan Center in Lincoln, and at St. Mary in Sutton.
We believe the response of the faithful in Lincoln has truly been Holy Spirit Driven. The book “Unbound” has been selling out at Gloria Deo, people are requesting prayer with little to no advertising, and people are sharing how God has set them free, which is evangelization. Seeing the Holy Spirit move, the Diocese of Lincoln has hired Matthew Simmons as the Unbound Coordinator, to help grow this ministry so that all the faithful may take hold of the freedom Jesus won for us.
