Q. How many times a day may a Catholic receive Holy Communion?
A. Canon Law states that a Catholic may receive Holy Communion twice in the same day, but the second time may be only during the celebration of Mass (Ca. 917). However, Catholics are also always to receive Holy Communion, if possible, when in danger of death, even if they have already received Holy Communion once or twice on that day (Ca. 921).
