SEWARD (SNR) - Seminarians of the Diocese of Lincoln made a “thank you” video on YouTube to spread their appreciation for the Bishop’s Appeal for Vocations.
The Bishop’s Appeal for Vocations organizes an annual appeal collection, which supplies some of the cost of the expenses for seminarians, the future priests of the diocese, in their studies, training, and formation for the priesthood.
This year, the goal for the appeal was $800,000, and the fund exceeded that, bringing in more than one million dollars.
There are currently 47 seminarians attending St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward (SGGS), from eight dioceses and two religious orders.
Twenty of the men at SGGS are studying for the Diocese of Lincoln, and an additional eight men are studying for the diocese at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia; seven at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md.; and three at the North American College in Rome.
The thank you video is posted on YouTube.
