LINCOLN (SNR) – The Knights of Columbus and Parish Council of Catholic Women of St. Peter Parish in Lincoln will host “Taste and See” Friday, April 6 from 6:30 to 11 p.m.
“This will be a great social event and opportunity to grow community in our parish, as well as begin to create funds for much-needed maintenance,” said committee member Mary Spethman.
Tickets to the adults-only event are $30 each. Guests will be able to sample wines courtesy of the Still, or taste beers from Blue Blood Brewery, The Boiler Room, Zipline and others. These offerings will be paired with food provided by Russ’s Market, Lazari’s Pizza, Raising Cane’s and parishioners. Each $30 ticket will buy three samplings and unlimited food; additional sampling tickets may be purchased for $1 and drinks are only five tickets.
Admission to “The Other Room” for $20 allows visitors to sample libations such as premium bourbon, scotch, select wines and champagne.
Both silent and live auctions will take place during the evening and a raffle will be held where 50 “Golden” raffle tickets will be sold for $100 each. The owner of the winning ticket may select any live auction item prior to the start of bidding.
Prizes include a six-day African safari (airfare not included); a Cayman Island trip; Greek cooking lessons and dinner for eight; a Nike Apple Watch; Skybox Salt Dog tickets for 20; a basketball hoop system; golf at Hillcrest with Bishop James Conley and Father Timothy Danek; and a Sonos speakers system. Father Charles Townsend and Father Danek will each prepare dinners for eight at the rectory and Father Townsend will also share his master baking skills with a pie tutorial for four.
The “Taste and See” committee has also created an opportunity for interested families or businesses to help sponsor the event at a number of levels. Platinum and Gold level sponsors – Action Plumbing, Slim Chicken’s, Madonna Rehabilitation, REGA Engineering, Sid Dillon, Nebraska Dermatology and Brester Construction – as well as countless others have contributed to the sponsorship levels.

Proceeds from the event will be used toward pothole repair, the parish HVAC system and other needs.
