Fr. Kilcawley to lead ‘Divine Daughterhood/Merciful Motherhood’
WAVERLY (SNR) - All women are invited to join Father Sean Kilcawley at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly for a weekend retreat Aug. 24-26.
Speaking on the topic of “Divine Daughterhood / Merciful Motherhood,” Father Kilcawley will address ways every woman is called to live her feminine genius. Beyond biological relationships, this means every woman needs to recognize her call to be a daughter of God, and be a spiritual mother to those people God places in her life.
Father Kilcawley will discuss how people understand what it means to be human and what it means to love, by looking at the love of the Trinity. The human family mirrors this love in the love of Mother, Father, and Child. Our identity as human beings is rooted in our relationship to God the Father, and we first learn to trust in the context of a family.
Open to women of all ages who desire to deepen a proper grasp of their vocation and their dignity, the content will be revised for any who attended the retreat on this theme last year.
Father Kilcawley described the retreat as much more than just a weekend away from the kids.
“It is a time set aside for the Lord, in response to an invitation from the Lord, which allows him to work and do what he wants to do in your life,” he said. “It is a time to encounter Jesus Christ in a more profound way.
“The retreat will provide space for women to step out of the world in order to spend time with our Lord Jesus Christ who came to reveal the face of the Father’s love for each of us,” he explained.
