Youth invited to visit Pink Sisters

LINCOLN (SNR) – The annual “Youth of the Eucharist” event will be held Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Pink Sisters’ Christ the King Chapel, 1040 South Cotner Blvd., Lincoln.

At 9:15 a.m., families may join the Sisters in prayer in the chapel, until 9:30 a.m. Young people of all ages may then, with their families, greet the Sisters at 10 a.m. in the Aurora Room.

“The Sisters look forward to seeing the families,” said organizer Katy Boever.

The Sister Servants of the Holy Spirit of Perpetual Adoration are called the “Pink Sisters” due to their rose-hued habits, the color proclaiming the sisters’ joy in their vocation.

The cloistered sisters came to the Diocese of Lincoln in 1973 and maintain a constant vigil of worship and prayer. They are assisted by lay members of their organization, the Pink Sisters Auxiliary, who arrange for this annual visit for children.
