LINCOLN (SNR) - Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska announced on social media Sept. 24 that the pantry shelves in Lincoln were almost bare.
“We are in desperate need of both perishable and non-perishable food items,” the post said.
When asked what type of items were needed, a representative responded that everything was welcome - and the pantry has a large cooler/freezer to store donations until they are handed out to those in need.
Those able to help are encouraged to bring donations to the St. Joseph offices at 2241 O St., Lincoln, during the normal business hours (10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday; 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Financial donations may also be made online at https://www.cssisus.org (list “Food Pantry” as the specific designation), or mailed to 2241 O St., Lincoln NE 68510.
Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska also has locations in Auburn, Hastings and Imperial. Together they served more than 28,000 individuals across the Diocese of Lincoln last year.
