LINCOLN (SNR) – A mother/daughter fertility appreciation program will be presented for 10- to 13-year-old girls and their mothers (or other supportive female adult) Sunday, March 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the John XXIII Diocesan Center, 37th and Sheridan, in Lincoln.
The mother/daughter program is an opportunity for mothers and their daughters to explore God’s special gift of human fertility and the beauty and wonder of growing up and becoming a woman. Topics include: the changes in a young woman’s body as it prepares for motherhood; the onset of ovulation and subsequent menstrual periods; the functions of the female reproductive system; the sacredness of human life; the virtue of chastity; and a confidential question-and-answer segment.
The purpose of the program is to provide an atmosphere of love and learning to discuss the important topic of growing up and to establish a foundation for continued communication between parent and child.
This event is open to the public, but reservations are required as seating is limited. Registrations must be received by Feb. 26. The cost is $20 per child, or $30 per family. The cost of the event includes a gift for each girl. Refreshments will be served.
