North American Martyrs Scouts Plan Unique Fundraiser

LINCOLN (SNR) - Boy Scout Troop 56 chartered by North American Martyrs in Lincoln is holding a fundraiser to pay for the 24 boys’ summer camp fees. They will hold a “World’s Fastest Fundraiser” directed by Patrick Kassebaum, offering an opportunity to drive a Lamborghini superleggera.

The boys will sell tickets for $1 each and the winners drawn receive a “How to Drive a Super Car” taught by some of the best drivers from CART, then get to drive the “world class super car” for 30 minutes.

The chances to drive are reserved for those 25 or older with a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance. Kids’ names can be drawn if they buy tickets, but those 5-18 will be a passenger with a guardian. Individuals or businesses may also reserve a seat for $400. More information is available at www.worldsfastestfundraiser.com (website link broken)

Boys who reach their goal of $260 in sales will get to be on the “pit crew” the day of the event to help care for the cars. They will receive a t-shirt, and be pictured with the cars.

Tickets are available until April 1. The drawing will be held April 15 and the drives will take place May 1-2. To purchase tickets, contact Scoutmaster James L. Brown at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 402-499-2863.
