‘Burger Bash’ to benefit Bruno man

April 13 event for ‘Ostry Family Singers’

DAVID CITY (SNR) – A “Burger Bash” will be held April 13 in the Knights of Columbus Hall in David City, to benefit Mike Ostry of Bruno.

The meal, served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will include hamburgers, chips, baked beans and drinks for a free-will donation.

In February, Mike Ostry, of St. Anthony de Padua Parish in Bruno, had emergency surgery for a life-threatening brain tumor. Proceeds from the April 13 event will be used toward medical expenses. Mike, his wife Karen and their 11 children are well known to the Catholic community as the “Ostry Family Singers.” They have provided music for many events, such as Masses at St. Luke’s Czech Catholic Shrine in Loma.

The Ostry Family Singers will also provide music at the benefit. Additional events at the “Burger Bash” include a bake sale and a live auction, which starts at 2 p.m.

For more information about the event, or to donate to the live auction, contact Lori Focher at 402-543-2443.
