A cast of more than 35 youth and adults from multiple Lincoln-area parishes will perform “Undivided Heart: Sister Clare Crockett” Oct. 8-11.
The production is written and directed by Patsy Urbanovsky, a member of St. Mary Parish in Denton.
“Servant of God Clare Crockett is so relatable to us today because she shows us that God works through ordinary people who are willing to open their hearts to Him,” she said. “In surrendering her life to God she discovered a deeper purpose: to serve with love, humility and joy.”
Growing up in Derry, Ireland, the charismatic and fun-loving Clare was determined to become a famous Hollywood actress. As a teen pursuing her dream, she fell into an immoral lifestyle. In the year 2000, at the age of 17, she accepted an invitation to what she thought was a beach vacation. Instead, she arrived at a Holy Week retreat, which changed the entire course of her life.
Moved by a radical encounter with the Lord on Good Friday, Clare joined the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother. She served as a teacher and missionary in communities across Spain, the United States and Ecuador, where she died in an earthquake in 2016. Her beatification cause officially opened in January 2025.
The group’s past productions include: “Jacques Fesch,” “Frassati” (on St. Pier Giorgio Frassati), “An Act of Reparation” (about Blessed Franz Jagerstatter), “The Knights” (about Blessed Father Michael McGivney and the founding of the Knights of Columbus), “The Leseur Love Story” (on Elisabeth and Felix Leseur) and “The Pearl of York” (about St. Margaret Clitherow).
The production will be held at The Vinton Family Barn, 1800 SW 56th St., Lincoln. Performances are Oct. 8, 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. Free-will donations will be accepted. Tickets must be reserved in advance at https://frassati.eventbrite.com or by text to (402) 937-4467.
