Women of all ages are invited to the “Walking in Victory” retreat Oct. 30-Nov. 1 to deepen their relationship with Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
This retreat is hosted by the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ (called the “DLJC Sisters”) and the Magnificat Morning Star Chapter of the Diocese of Lincoln at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House (OLGC) in Waverly.
Walking in Victory will include talks on the Father’s intimate love for each person, healing through Jesus and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
There will also be personal testimony, small group discussion, and time for praise and worship. Opportunities for silence and Eucharistic adoration, the sacraments, and prayer focused on the Holy Spirit’s gifts will be offered as well.
“Love begets love, my dear friends,” said Sister Francesca Ramsaroop, one of the retreat presenters. “As He has so loved us and poured Himself out for us, so we come to know this love, this mercy as the deep indwelling source of our goodness. This experience of mercy gives birth to a love in the deepest parts of our heart and soul: a longing for perpetual union with God.”
The retreat is sponsored by the Magnificat Morning Star Chapter, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in the Diocese of Lincoln. Magnificat is an association that desires to renew women’s relationship with Jesus Christ and deepen their openness to the Holy Spirit and His supernatural gifts. Women do not need to belong to Magnificat to attend the retreat.
Unlike many retreats at OLGC, Walking in Victory will include group discussion and praise and worship music, and is not a silent retreat.
The retreat begins Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. with the rosary and Mass. The retreat will conclude Sunday, Nov. 1, with Mass and lunch.
