Sisters of Mary, Queen of Mercy welcome novice

LINCOLN (SNR) - The Sisters of Mary Queen of Mercy of the Diocese of Lincoln welcomed Hằng Bùi into the novitiate Dec. 23.

During the initiation ceremony, Hằng received the habit of the community, a copy of the Constitutions, and her new religious name, Sister Maria Joseph.

Sister Maria Joseph is the daughter of Viện Bùi and Thành Nguyễn of Phước Thành Parish in Vũng Tàu, Vietnam, where she is originally from.

The Sisters of Mary, Queen of Mercy were established in the Diocese of Lincoln in 1999 by Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz. The Sisters currently serve in education through their work in the Little Flower Childcare Center run by the Sisters, and by teaching in the Catholic schools, specifically at Cathedral of the Risen Christ School and Pius X High School in Lincoln. The Sisters also serve in other apostolates such as health care, pastoral care, and social work.
