June 2-4 event in Cathedral School gym to fund multitude of PCCW projects
LINCOLN (SNR) – The Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW) of the Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln will hold a garage sale and bake sale June 2-4 in the school gym, 3245 S. 37th St.
This is the fifth year of the garage sale and proceeds go toward the expenses of the PCCW.
The organization serves the parish in various ways. They maintain the altar, including the purchase of the wine and bread for all the Masses. They also provide a fund to assist with the purchase of vestments.
The members of the PCCW also serve receptions at events for the parish, such as first Communion and Confirmation, and also events for the diocese, celebrated by Bishop James Conley.
The PCCW also provides a meal to those mourning the passing of a loved one after a funeral, provide funding for renovations for the rectory, and donate to various organizations throughout the year including scholarships for the Cathedral of the Risen Christ School, Villa Marie Home and School for Exceptional Children and Pius X High School. They also give to the post-prom at Pius, the “Funds for Nuns” and the diocesan seminary burse.
The garage sale – with a bake sale included – will be held Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, June 4 from 8 a.m. to noon. Parking is available across the street at the John XIII Diocesan Center, 3700 Sheridan Blvd.
