Godspell coming to Wahoo

WAHOO (SNR) – Vocal and theater students from Bishop Neumann High School in Wahoo will give three performances of the musical "Godspell" Friday, April 7 (7pm) and Saturday, April 8 (2pm and 7pm) at the Wahoo Performing Arts Center .

“Godspell” is the musical retelling of the Gospel of Matthew in modern times. It uses an array of music, dance and storytelling to bring Jesus’ message to life.

The musical features a blend of songs ranging from pop to vaudeville including "Day by Day," "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord" and “By My Side.”

The part of Jesus is being portrayed by Tanner Langemeier, and John the Baptist/Judas is being played by John Celesky. Other main characters include Thomas Benes, Bonnie Bouc, Cloelia Braunsroth, Veronica Hart, Hallie Hiemstra, Garrison Knuth, Katie Lilly, and Luke Mach.

The approximately two-hour show has a dessert intermission sponsored by Bishop Neumann’s sophomore class. Preferred tickets, which include dessert, cost $13 and may be purchased on the Bishop Neumann website: bishopneumann.com/godspell-tickets-available-online.

General admission tickets will be available at the door for $8.

Bishop Neumann Jr./Sr. High School, which opened in 1964, currently serves 291 students in grades 7-12.
