OMAHA (SNR/SCR) – Spirit Catholic Radio—with the help of listeners, parishes, communities and businesses—collected more than 23,000 diapers to be donated to resource centers across Nebraska and Western Iowa.
The pro-life diaper drive took place throughout May in Omaha, Lincoln, Columbus, Norfolk, Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney and North Platte, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Diapers, as well as other baby items like wipes, new baby clothing and blankets, will be donated to resource centers within the communities where the items were collected. The community of Lincoln gathered 3,059 diapers which will be donated to Catholic Social Services. The Hastings community collected 515 diapers for various resource centers in Hastings.
“Spirit Catholic Radio is humbled by the support the pro-life diaper drive received,” said Jim Carroll, Spirit Catholic Radio executive director. “Our mission is to help others encounter Jesus and what better way to do that than to support women and children in their basic needs? Our listeners, communities and parishes we reach through the radio airwaves truly put their faith in action through the diaper drive, and we are grateful.”
