Spirit Catholic Radio collecting items to ‘Warm Up Winter’

OMAHA, (KVSS/SNR) –Spirit Catholic Radio is working to “Warm Up Winter” in the Diocese of Lincoln for the less fortunate by collecting new coats, boots, hats, gloves, mittens and socks for both adults and children.

Items donated to the second annual Warm Up Winter campaign will be donated to Catholic Social Services in Lincoln and Hastings, and locally in West Point.

Items can be brought to Spirit 102.7-FM in Lincoln at 630 North Cotner Blvd., Ste. 101,  to Catholic Social Services in Lincoln at 2241 O St., or Catholic Social Services in Hastings at 333 W. Second St., or Schmitt Clothing Store in West Point at 106 S. Main St. by Dec. 28.

“Spirit Catholic Radio’s goal in creating the Warm Up Winter campaign was to help our neighbors,” said Jim Carroll, executive director of Spirit Catholic Radio. “The donated items will be distributed to people in the Diocese of Lincoln who have a need for warm, winter items by our friends at Catholic Social Services in Lincoln and Hastings and in West Point.”

In addition to Hastings, Lincoln and West Point, Spirit Catholic Radio is holding Warm Up Winter drives in Omaha, Grand Island, Columbus and Norfolk. Items collected in each specific community will be distributed in that community. Spirit Catholic Radio’s mission is to spread the Gospel message to all people and one way the network does this is to be Christ to others by reaching out to those in need.

Spirit Catholic Radio is the area’s only Catholic radio network with stations across most of Nebraska, western Iowa and other parts of the Midwest. Spirit Catholic Radio also streams online at spiritcatholicradio.com. Our mission is to help all people encounter Jesus. It can be heard on 91.5-FM in Hastings and 102.7-FM in Lincoln and West Point.
