Evangelization Resources

In 1996, Systematic Integral New Evangelization (SINE) was brought to our diocese as a pastoral plan - a model for evangelization in parish life. This plan originated in Mexico with Fr. Alphonso Navarro and is designed to develop a vibrant, active parish through small faith sharing communities. Bringing individuals to a closer, personal relationship with the Lord leads them to a more active faith and apostleship.

Renamed "Light of the World", it reflects how we are charged with a common mission that Christ has set forth. Light of the World helps us to recognize that Christ has a job for each of us and to determine what His will is for us. It calls us to listen through prayer and to do His work through mission.

There are currently 63 parishes in the diocese that have implemented these parish retreats and small faith sharing communities. More than 2,800 laity have participated in parish retreats.

Light of the World is not a movement in the Church, but a parish model that shows us how to become an active evangelizing community.
