The Diocesan Office of Family Life & Discipleship sponsors separate Mother/Daughter and Father/Son programs for pre-teens to learn about the physical and emotional changes that come with puberty. Fathers with their sons age 10-14, and mothers with their daughters age 9-13 (or any other caring adult such as a grandparent), are invited to attend an afternoon presentation which promotes chastity and a better understanding of God's gift of our human sexuality.
Programs on chastity, Theology of the Body and fertility awareness are also available for presentation to schools or CCD programs. Simply Well, presented by Kelly Callan — a Registered Nurse, wife, and mom of four. She is passionate about helping women understand their bodies through a blend of body literacy, biology, and a gentle, root-cause approach to hormone health. Through her coaching practice, Simply Well, she support women in developing sustainable cycle strategies, restoring balance, and navigating each season of womanhood with confidence and clarity.
She is also an Education Partner with The Guiding Star Project, helping bring a cutting-edge, faith-based curriculum to girls of all ages within our diocese. The Guiding Star mission is “to provide wholistic, life-affirming care that honors the natural design of women’s bodies and promotes a culture of dignity, health, and joy for every stage of womanhood.” It’s a privilege to help make this education accessible and empowering for young girls and their families.
Two presentations are available:
- Intro to Womanhood – targeted toward girls ages 9–12
- Modern Womanhood – targeted toward high school and college-age girls
