Retired priest Msgr. Pleskac dies at 81 in Lincoln

LINCOLN (SNR) – Monsignor Myron J. Pleskac, a retired priest of the Diocese of Lincoln, died Jan. 3.

Emeritus Bishop Fabian W. Bruskewitz celebrated a funeral Mass Jan. 6 in St. Joseph Church in Lincoln. Burial was at the School Sisters of Christ the King Cemetery, Lincoln. Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Msgr. Pleskac, ordained in 1960, was raised in Loma. He was director of St. Luke’s Czech Catholic Shrine in Loma from 1997, until his retirement Oct. 30, 2015.

He served the Diocese of Lincoln as pastor in many communities, including in Crete, Denton, Heartwell, Kenesaw, Lincoln and Palmyra. He also taught at Aquinas in David City and Bishop Neumann in Wahoo

Prior to his retirement, Msgr. Pleskac also served as chaplain to the School Sisters of Christ the King.

Msgr. Pleskac is survived by nieces and nephews.
