The Diocesan Office of Religious Education is excited to offer the My Catholic Faith Delivered web-based catechist training and certification program. The goal of this program is to help form and enhance the catechists’ knowledge of the faith as well as their teaching techniques. The session needed for basic certification is entitled Catechesis 101. It is Bishop Conley’s desire that each new CCD & Godparent/CYO teacher who has not already done so, should aim at completing Catechesis 101 in one year's time.
The components of Catechesis 101 consist of the following:
- Eight separate on-line lessons for basic catechist certification.
- These user-friendly online lessons are composed of instructional videos, short reading assignments, and brief quizzes.
- Each of the eight lessons in Catechesis 101 takes about one hour to complete. The lessons can be completed at the catechists’ leisure throughout the year.
