Welcome to the Benedict XVI Diocesan School of Catechesis. This program is designed to help strengthen the intellectual and spiritual formation of Catholic adults in order to empower their evangelical mission in the world.
The Benedict XVI School of Catechesis will offer a two-year program of formation, consisting of courses one Saturday per month throughout the school year. The first year is a guided walk through the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, namely, The Profession of Faith (Creed), The Celebration of the Christian Mystery (Sacraments), Life in Christ (Commandments), and Christian Prayer. The second year consists of Salvation History, Spirituality, Faith and Reason, and Church History. At the conclusion of two years, each student will have received 96 hours of catechetical formation and a firm foundation in the Catholic faith.
The classes will be a hybrid of traditional and digital classroom learning. They will be conducted at John XXIII in the traditional way with presenters and participants physically present and simultaneously through Zoom's video conferencing so that participants who cannot be physically present will still be able to attend the live presentations, interact with everyone, and offer questions and comments.
