Homework Outline
This class acknowledges that the desire of the human heart is for happiness. However happiness can be defined in various ways with greater degrees of value. The “Four Levels of Happiness” as defined by Fr. Robert Spitzer, SJ, are then presented and discussed. They are:
Level One: Material things
Level Two: Personal achievement
Level Three: A focus on others
Level Four: A focus on God
This leads into a discussion of the means Jesus gave us for experiencing the happiness of the Kingdom in the Beatitudes. Finally, the lesson concludes with a review of the Precepts of the Church in the context of receiving the graces we need to live a fulfilling life. A homework outline is provided for student notes.
